GP Allergist Dr Marius Botha has a highly specialised and mobile medical practice based in Mackay, Queensland. He operates his own clinics, while also working across various other practices.  In 2019, Dr Botha opened a new clinic on the Sunshine Coast, and switched to Clinic to Cloud, just as COVID hit. Now, he has saved his practice time and money, while enjoying the flexibility to work from anywhere. > “We had a backlog in that first week of COVID. We were hammered and had hundreds of patients. However, we found the Clinic to Cloud software very easy to use. Now, everything we need is coming in as we need it. My blood tests are coming in, my x-rays are coming in - it gives me much more freedom and costs me less,” he says.  ### **Challenge** Dr Botha’s practice is highly mobile as he operates his own clinic, as well as works within other medical practices. In several of those practices, he was using different medical software solutions but found them inefficient, hard to access, and unsuited to his on-the-go needs. “We're always getting phone calls with queries, and requests to come back to various locations,” Dr Botha said. “The previous software I was using through another clinic was just in the ‘too-hard box’, so I left it for the nurses or for the receptionists to do.” Two of the practices Dr Botha worked at which had only used server-based clinical and practice management software and didn’t even offer remote access to their systems, making coordinating appointments for his busy schedule very difficult. “The software solutions were a nightmare because they were running on servers, which would crash, getting outdated, plus were so costly to maintain,” he says. “In fact, a practice I know recently spent $20,000-30,000 on a server, which is working at the moment, but in a year or two years’ time will probably crash again. I didn’t want to outlay that kind of money. I needed something that would seamlessly work wherever I go, and which wouldn’t cost me a lot to continually upgrade.” ### **The Solution** Dr Botha needed to find a smarter, more agile medical software solution for his highly specialised practice. We can also link up our software with an accountancy program.
