The modern medical practice | Access wherever you are whenever you need

The health sector is a 17-year passion of mine that I  find not only challenging and exciting but also  personally rewarding when you know you are  contributing to a great cause.

While I’m not a practicing doctor today, I continue to  work very closely with clinicians of all disciplines in a  technical capacity, providing tools that enable them  to do their wonderful work.

In my mind, the less a clinician’s day is consumed by  non-medical tasks, the greater the level of care will  be. Unfortunately, the medical sector is necessarily  high in administration and has been slow to adopt technology to streamline functions.

I believe Clinic to Cloud is the first step to disrupting this sector and bring overdue improvements to the everyday workings of a doctor –and through this, improve the delivery of healthcare in Australia.

Connecting healthcare

My vision is a connected healthcare system that assists healthcare professionals in better managing their business, their medical practice and, most importantly, the level of care to their patients, without having to sacrifice their own wellbeing.

In my time working in the sector I have found this to be a rare balance for medical professionals to strike; business, practice management, care and home-life.

“Being able to access information 24/7 is vital, particularly in obstetrics and gynaecology,” says obstetrician Dr. Joseph Sgroi.

“Being able to see specifically what’s going on at a given point in time means you can answer the patient’s questions a lot more efficiently, and more importantly, provide them exactly the right information they need at that point in time. And you don’t have to be near your desktop to do that”

Finding this balance relies on the ability to control the time you work, and being able to work wherever you want, whenever you need to. It’s about getting home at a reasonable hour and spending some time with family and loved ones, without compromising your practice.

Clinic to Cloud practice management software

This balance is what my practice management software, Clinic to Cloud, strives to achieve. It is a cloud-based practice management tool built on Microsoft’s cloud computing platform & infrastructure that allows for secure access to records from any device, scheduling of appointments and a patient portal to facilitate low-touch bookings and correspondence.  Being part of the Microsoft Azure eco-system means, the application replicates and backs up data every minute, maintains advanced firewalls and undertakes real-time monitoring of threats.

I’m acutely aware that being a health care professional requires the greatest level of commitment and diligence, and this system has been developed in recognition of that.

I believe that medical technology is similar to medicine itself, in that it’s always evolving. So I will continue learning and driving innovation so that clinical practices can benefit from cost effective technology solutions that let them do their best work.

It’s an incredible field to be in, and after 17 years in the health sector, I am as invigorated and inspired as ever to continue my work enabling medical professionals with clinical software.
